I have always had a love for children and am driven to help inspire them in some capacity; from advocating, mentoring to counseling. I believe in the counseling experience and understand that it takes the right fit and the ability to feel comfortable with someone in order to seek help. I provide a safe and warm environment for clients to explore how to overcome difficulties or what’s holding them back from being the best version of who they are. My client focus is with children and adolescences that have experienced trauma, substance abuse issues, behavioral concerns, poor academic achievement and learning disabilities. It's also the caregivers whom can be greatly affected when a child is off balance and also need support. My belief is that when the caregivers are equipped with the right tools and support they will be better able to support their child through the difficulty they are experiencing.
I would like to help your family find practical tools to cope and manage life successfully.
I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development from Sacramento State University in 2005. I then returned to complete my Master of Science in Counseling Education: Marriage and Family Therapy Degree in 2009, Licensed in 2016 . As I earned my degrees, I worked in group homes, schools and provided clinical services in an outpatient clinic. My experience at the outpatient clinic, non-profit community based program, is where I truly fell in love with working closely with parents and children. My background encompasses over 10 years working with children and families in variety of settings. I provide services ranging from; advocating, behavioral support, mentoring, counseling and providing therapeutic techniques.
I am a mother of two fun-loving children and married to an amazing supportive man. We enjoy outdoor activities and sports. In my free time, I enjoy running. It helps keep me balanced. Life is busy and can be overwhelming at times and it’s important for me as mother, wife and therapist to take the time for self-care, which helps me find balance with everything going on. I am a fitness enthusiast at heart.
